so this semester rocks so far. yes, it is day 1. BUT STILL. first of all, i have schultzitron again which was a complete surprise! yes! also i have a percussion class which was soooooooooooo fun. my english class seems wayyy more interesting since we are actually studying literature rather than lame essays by howard mansfield. so far, 3 thumbs up on semester number 2. i still haven't been to 2 classes though, so we will see how those go.

OH COLLEGE!
the worst of this week is over!!! woohooo!
OK so i just came from professor stumpf's concert, and he was UNBELIEVABLE. you don't even understand. i have never heard music like that come out of a piano before. ahhhh
i am basically done for the week since nothing else important is happening for the rest of the week. yeah i have some classes i guess, but that is about it. this week has been moving pretty slowly probably since the weekend was so long and i have been looking forward to the next one. don't get me wrong, i love being here and everything, but there is nothing like going home.
anyway my week has been pretty boring so far. nothing too crazy has happened. i can't think of any exciting stories to tell or anything so ttylz guyz

TODAY WAS AN EXCITING DAY AT COLLEGE, AS USUAL.
gerald's class was pretty boring today. i thought college writing was OK, but some other girl didn't, and she was ranting about how much it sucks as we left. i got potatoes today and they weren't THAT hard, and with ketchup they were pretty tasty. aural skills was pretty marvelous. schultzitron is pretty funny. i practiced then i went to my lesson which was good. my teacher suggested that i double major in music ed and performance since i am apparently making a lot of progress already. so that is something to think about. oh college!. i don't have anything else to write about really. life is kind of boring, but it is good.

I got a B- on my aural skills quiz!!! That is good considering what I thought I was going to get...
Today I got to sleep late, and I got out of math early since we had an "hour test" (which implies that the test will take an hour). Of course it did not take an hour, since it consisted of 5 easy questions about estimation and Venn diagrams. Watch, I will probably get an F now that I said that. BUT it seemed really easy. I got some food after math then met my piano ensemble partner and we went through the song we are doing. NEXT I had EUROPEAN ART MUSIC, which, as I have mentioned, is the dumbest class ever. At least the professor talked about music history stuff today for the most part. We had a quiz right near the end of class and it seemed OK, but I'm not sure how I did. After that I THOUGHT I had piano ensemble....but I was sitting in the room reading until like 3:15 and no one showed up, so I just left and went to practice. Now I am back at my room like obv. I don't have anything deep to say today. I am feeling all right I suppose.

BAD NEWS GUYS.
Gerald is gone. as in...dead. I mean I knew this day would come someday, but I just didn't expect it to be so soon. Yes he left many sea monkey children to carry on in his memory, but they are mostly obnoxious and male.
MORE BAD NEWS
Sean from room 642 in Thompson Hall died. But the good news about this is that Sean is made up, and I am pretty sure that we do not have a Thompson Hall.
My weekend was good, in case you were wondering. I ate a lot of food and watched a lot of TV, which is OK once in a while I guess. I went out with Katie and Jesse on Friday then up to NH with my dad to see my aunt and uncle's new house. It was a fun time. Basically I just chilled on Saturday. Sunday I went to church and taught some lessons then came back to college. oh college.
Today was kind of horrible but not that bad I guess. The music theory quiz I had was easy and we got out early. English was good; we just talked about what we read. BUT AURAL SKILLS was basically the scariest experience of my life. We had a singing quiz and I had to go second. The line I had to sight sing had both a 6th and a 4th in it...the two that are hardest for me to figure out. So I freaked out a little bit until I finally figured it out (but I completely forgot to conduct and my rhythm was not right). Hopefully the next one will not be as frightening. After that I practiced and came back to the dorm. I was supposed to practice with my piano ensemble partner today, but I did not see him at all so I don't know when we are going to play.
I HAVE CHORAL UNION TONIGHT!!!!!! It is going OK I guess, but I don't want to go.

my weekend was pretty good. it was my mom's birthday so i went out with my family. i lost my wallet. then i found it. my bass is finally fixed so that is fantastic. i got back to school last night at like 8:15 and did some work and stuff. apparently gerald the sea monkey had babies over the weekend since it was just him (or her) when i left, and when i returned we had 10+ sea monkeys in there. exciting!
today i had music theory and english which were fine. then i was freaking out about an aural skills quiz only to find out that he decided to postpone it. so that is good, i suppose.
now i am here updating my journal obv. oh baby, what an exciting life i lead! i have choral union later and obviously i'm pumped.

today was a beautiful day. it is my roommate's birthday!!! woooo!
i slept late this morning then went to stanley's class which was mad easy fo shiz. he ended up talking about palindromes, and almost wanted to tell him a couple but i didn't. other than that we talked about venn diagrams. it was so intensely difficult. then i had recital hour which consisted of a discussion about when we need durgin hall open on the weekends. this means that everyone had to make things difficult and present the same arguments 292093820938 times. so that took up the entire hour, and believe me that was pretty spectacular. after that i got some lunch then came back. and then stephanie and jen o'neill came to visit! it was exciting. we had a fabulous time just basking in the awesomeness of my dorm room and the fabulously hot dining hall. anyway it was a fun night. except that i missed my biffle's phone call again which completely stinks. i have a little homework to do, so i will go now.

LOLz today=best day ever
QUIZ IN GERALD'S CLASS. i did well i think. ENGLISH CLASS was riveting as usual. we talked about the george washington tree that actually was just a regular tree. then the highlight of my day!!!! i drew a smiley face on my plate with cream cheese and gave it to the dishes man and he laughed and now we are bfflz. yeah i'm easily amused. AURAL SKILLS was hot. SCHULTZATRON is pretty cool. then i practiced on a beautiful piano FINALLY and it was magical. then i had my lesson and it was fabulous. FANTASTIC. my teacher is so cool. oh college.
i am in a good mood; everything is making me laugh.
HAHAHAHA.
OMGOSH i'm pumped because my bass should be in this week!!!
sorry i update so much...there is just so much time, and so little cable.

yesterday was ok but i was mad tired fo sho. gerald's class in the morning was good but he seemed like he was in kind of a bad mood. in college writing we just did peer editing which was productive, for once. then i got food with alisa and went to schultzy's class. it was pretty awesome. theni went back and just hung out til about 6 when i went and practiced my lovely singing and then went to choral union. it is much easier to sing when i have practiced the music and actually know how it's supposed to sound. it was cool but it was really long and my throat hurt.
today was a good day i guess. i got to sleep late since it is tuesday and i don't have class til 11. we got out of math early since no one had any questions about the 4th grade level math we are doing. then i went to the library and did some homework until 1:00 when it was time for EUROPEAN ART MUSIC. OK, that is possibly the dumbest class ever. in theory it sound like it would be really good since music history is usually pretty exciting...but my teacher spends like an hour every time talking about something completely unrelated to music history. then kids argue with him about the unrelated topic...and then we finally start to talk about music and he goes off on some tangent that still doesn't really relate to music. anyway that was a wasted 2 hours of my life. i went to piano ensemble afterwards where we did not actually play the piano at all; the guy just talked about music the whole time. i actually enjoy listening to him; he seems like a very smart person. we got out early so i went and practiced on a crappy out of tune piano since all of the piano rooms were either locked or filled and then i came back. yeahhh college. it's so exciting.

LYKE OMGOSH my day was horrible until i realized i have it pretty good. i was like "UUUUGGGGGGGGGGGh i'm so TIRED and my SOUL HURTS" for half the day but i got over it. basically i just feel kind of exhausted and sick and i had to take the bus a bunch of times. i went to music theory at 8 (yayyy gerald) and then since english was cancelled i went backto the dorm for like 5 seconds and got my aural skills notebook that i forgot. then i came back and read outside for a while until aural skills. that class was fine and it went by pretty quickly. i practiced for a while then went back to the dorm and had some tea and crackers because i was hungry and my throat hurt. i went out to wait for the bus at 2:15 for a 3:00 lesson and the bus did come at around 2:40 but the woman was off-duty. i decided to walk since there was a massive traffic jam and if i waited for the bus it would be like 40 minutes. so i was pissed off for like 5 minutes then realized the traffic jam was because of a gigantic funeral at one of the many funeral homes on the road...so i didn't feel that bad about having to walk to south campus because...you know...i could be dead. or i could not have the opportunity to even be at school. or something worse. so i'm over my teen angst for now....yeah i'm still tired, and my soul still hurts, but i'm not dead.
btw today is neil peart's birthday so listen to lots of rush plz kthx

so far college is pretty fabulous in case you were wondering. today was a magical day. last night the emergency exit alarm kept going off so i woke up like every hour randomly. then i woke up around 6:30 this morning and voyaged to the bus stop around 7:30. i just made it to music theory a little before 8 which was good since he locks the door on anyone who is late. after music theory i had college writing with alisa!!! it was absolutely spectacular. we have a 3 page paper due monday which seems like it will be pretty easy seeing as i have like 18348374 hours of free time since my classes are at 8! wooo. then i ate some gross food and went to aural skills which i actually really enjoyed! it is the professor's first year so he still seems pretty nervous while he's teaching, but he's very nice and funny. he's been easing us into the singing thing and it hasn't been bad at all so far. anyway i am just computer-ing it up now. OH YEAH GUESS WHAT. i am going to chorus at 7:30 because i need another 1 credit ensemble, so next time you see me i'm going to be an extraordinary singer (even though i totally already am).

college is pretty cool. my roommate is awesome and we are so metal. i start classes tomorrow and i have an audition so that is a little scary but it should be interesting. i just went to the honors program orientation thing and it was kind of lame but also fun. i miss home but i'll get over it, and i'll be home all the time. so whateva.
